What is BIOS?
- Stands for Basic Input/Output System.
- The BIOS is a chip on the motherboard that contains a small amount of software that identifies your hardware and instructs your computer where to look for the Operating System.

What is its purpose?
- The first job for the BIOS is the power-on self-test, which initializes and identifies system devices such as the CPU, RAM, video display card, keyboard and mouse, hard disk drive, optical disc drive and other hardware.
- The BIOS stores the date, the time, and your system configuration information in a battery-powered.
- Beep codes are used by the BIOS during the POST to report certain initial system errors. (it typically means that the system has encountered some kind of problem before it was able to display any kind of error information on the monitor.
How to access BIOS?
Boot (or restart) the PC: Pay close attention to the first screen that appears. Look for a message that indicates which key you need to press in order to access the BIOS. That key is likely to be:
--A Function key (such as F1, F2, or F3).
--The Esc key.
--The Delete key.

By entering the BIOS you can change many sittings like:
1- boot order.
2- change time and date.
3- set a password.
NOTE : if you made anymistakes any your computer didnt boot you can rest the BIOS to it is defult by entering it or by the jumper.

What is DHCP?
Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a
client/server protocol that automatically provides an Internet Protocol (IP)
host with its IP address and other related configuration information such as
the subnet mask and default gateway. It allows hosts to obtain necessary TCP/IP
configuration information from a DHCP server.

What is an operating system?
- An operating system (OS) is a collection of software that manages computer hardware resources and provides common services for computer programs. The operating system is a vital component of the system software in a computer system. Application programs require an operating system to function.

To install an operating system you need to do the following steps:
First: Pre-Installation:
1- Decide what you would like to do and find out the minimum + maximum requirements.
2- Back up your data, in case an error happens in the installation process.
3- Boot up.
Second: Installation.
1- Start the installation
2- Choose which installation you want, a clean one or an upgrade.
3- Partition your hard drive.
4- Follow the instruction and fill with information when it needed.
5- Reboot.
Third: Post-Installation.
6- Check the drivers from control panel (device manager).
7- Configure the security setting such as updates and firewall.
8- Install an anti-virus to avoid damage.
